Melani Ismail is recognized as a Conceptual Visionary, with a wealth of experience spanning over 30 years in the entertainment industry. Through her consultant company www.maiteammedia.com she has continuously expanded her creative influence through various business endeavors such as music, literature, film, and television. Melani embarked on her career as a celebrity barber in Los Angeles, granting her behind the scenes access and experience in the entertainment industry.
At just 19, she successfully managed her first hip hop group and co-founded a production company with two childhood friends. Her journey led her to collaborate with some of the industry's most prominent figures. In 1995, she met and married her husband of now, 29 years, football legend Rocket Ismail, which eventually led to the couple relocating their family to Dallas, Texas. In 2003, Melani established a record label, studio, and film company, while raising four young children and supporting her husband's football career with The Dallas Cowboys.
Melani executive produced several music projects and produced a film, "The Walk," featuring Eva Marcelle from America's Top Model, with a release on Universal/Codeblack. In 2010, Melani was selected as a cast member on VH1's Football Wives. She had the opportunity to showcase her debut single, "You Bring the Love," to an audience of millions. She also released a single that was nominated for The Independent Music Awards. This exposure led her being chosen to perform at an NFL Wives event in Washington, DC, where she also enjoyed a private tour of The White House along with other NFL Wives. Melani is a current member of the NFL Wives, Off The Field Wives Organization.
Melani's debuted her first book, "The Freedom of Letting Go," in 2011, and charted on the iTunes at #14 (Self Help) and #55 (Health,Mind, & Body, as well as earned the "The Henri Award" for Most Inspirational Book in 2011. She released two more books and is currently working on the follow up to her first book. Following this success of her first book, she embarked on a journey as a keynote speaker at various venues such as churches, colleges, and women's events. Melani has been a featured guest major shows and publications including, The Today Show, NPR, Fox Sports Network, VH1, Inside Edition, TV Guide, Vibe Magazine, La Mode Magazine, and more.
In 2019, Melani and her husband, Rocket, founded a non-profit organization, THE FUN FACTORY funfactoryint.org aimed at supporting the young entrepreneurial community through music, film/television, arts, and technology. THE FUN FACTORY has organized events providing young individuals with the chance to learn directly from industry professionals in music, television, and film. Notably, THE FUN FACTORY recently hosted several interns in Illinois who actively contributed to the production of the feature film, Albany Road, featuring an all-star A list cast, scheduled for a winter 2024 release.
